Why Maintenance Matters

Every ONSRA board is built to last — CNC precision, sealed components, and high-quality electronics.
But even the strongest machine needs care.

Whether you ride daily or weekly, a few simple maintenance steps make the difference between a board that feels brand new after two years and one that wears out too soon.

Weekly Checks

1. Belt Tension
If your board uses a Belt or Gear Drive, inspect belt tension once a week.

  • Belts should feel snug but not overly tight.

  • A belt that’s too tight strains bearings and reduces range.

  • Too loose? You’ll feel it slip under acceleration — tighten slightly.

2. Wheel Nuts & Bushings

  • Check your wheel nuts — they can loosen from vibration.

  • Inspect your bushings (the soft urethane pieces in the trucks).
If they look cracked or compressed, replace them with ONSRA 65A or 82A Bushings.

3. Deck & Enclosure Check
Look for visible cracks, loose screws, or any separation between deck and enclosure.
Tighten evenly — CNC parts don’t need much torque.

Monthly Care

1. Bearings

  • Spin each wheel by hand.

  • If they don’t spin freely, remove and clean them with a light bearing cleaner or isopropyl alcohol.

  • Re-grease with a drop of bearing oil.

2. Belt & Pulley Inspection

  • Check for wear, cracks, or frayed edges.

  • Replace worn belts with new ONSRA replacement belts.

  • Clean pulleys with a soft brush — no water.

3. Screw Torque Check

  • CNC parts are precise, but vibration can loosen screws.

  • Check mounts, baseplates, and enclosure bolts every few weeks.

Every 6 Months

1. Truck Alignment
Make sure your trucks remain square to the deck. Any misalignment causes speed wobble or uneven tire wear.

2. Bushing Condition
Bushings compress over time. If your board starts to feel unstable, it’s time to replace them.

3. Deck and Enclosure Seal Check
Inspect the gasket between your deck and enclosure — replace it if worn. It keeps moisture and dust out.

Cleaning Tips

  • Never hose down your board.

  • Use a dry microfiber cloth or slightly damp cloth for dirt.

  • Avoid spraying any cleaner near ports or motors.

  • Clean wheels with warm water only if removed from the board.

Dust and dirt reduce range over time because of rolling resistance — keeping your wheels and bearings clean really matters.

Battery & Storage Care

Your ONSRA battery is a precision-built lithium pack. Treat it like one.

  • If not riding for weeks: store at 40–60% charge.

  • Never leave fully charged or fully drained for long periods.

  • Charge indoors at room temperature only.

  • Avoid extreme cold or heat.

  • If riding in winter, warm the board indoors before charging.

Smart maintenance easily adds hundreds of charge cycles to your battery’s life.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Over-tightening belts (kills torque and bearings).

  • Riding through puddles or wet roads.

  • Storing board fully charged in heat.

  • Ignoring weird noises (usually a loose screw or misaligned pulley).

  • Leaving the board plugged in overnight.

Storage and Transport

When not riding, stand your board upright or flat — never leaning on one wheel for days.
Avoid tossing it in car trunks where temperatures fluctuate wildly.
If you’re traveling with your ZENO 99Wh Air-Travel Safe Board, remove the battery if possible and keep it in a separate fire-safe bag during flight.

The ONSRA Philosophy

ONSRA builds boards for riders who care about performance.
That means being transparent — from range testing to long-term maintenance.
We’d rather teach you how to keep your board perfect than sell you spare parts you shouldn’t need.

Because when you maintain precision-built machines right, they stay perfect.
