Product Reviews and How-To's
First, I want to note that the customer service is exceptional! I have to give credit to when its due and Matthew has responded punctually every time I reached out. Any question or concern I have, Matthew was able to walk me through it. Second, I purchased the Black Carve 2 DD (Direct Drive) and I cannot get enough of it! It is that much fun! This is the first electric board I have ever ridden and purchased. I did my thorough research and came to the conclusion, ONSRA and Black Carve 2 DD, and I do not regret it one bit. Lastly, prior to making any purchase, my two areas of concern is customer service and the product itself. ONSRA checks both boxes and I highly recommend their product and company itself to any future electric board enthusiast. Thanks so much!
I'm 185cm and 115kg, so hardly petite. Before I've ridden 500km on a Wowgo 3X which would get me up to 37km/h and on average 15-18km of range on 90mm PU wheels. For the exact same road and temperature (24-29C) Onsra BC2 DD would get me around 35km of range (115mm rubber) before going into snail mode. Speed wise I wasn't able to fully max it as I'm inexperienced with DKP's and speed wobbles seem like a possibility. Overall ride feel is very nice. DD's make the ride almost absolutely silent save for very low speeds, so on good pavement it almost feels like you're flying. For my weight I had to tighten the bushings very hard and it still takes a lot of skill to keep it stable at high speeds, compared to single kingpins on my 3X. The board, however is extremely agile and will let you turn on a dime, so make sure to master it. Now for some caveats. Don't expect the 115mm wheels to scale larger obstacles than 90mm PU. They are soft and once they hit something, they will compress to a smaller effective diameter. Even when tackling curbs head on, the rear wheels will compress enough to allow the edge of the curb to tap the motor cans. As for the motors - don't expect to keep them pristine. Just don't and you'll live a happier life. The cans will get beaten up in no time, but I'm certain the motors will be safe. The brake strength on DD's will be very RPM dependent. Don't get me wrong - it can stop fast, but as you near a standstill the brake strength will diminish. If you come from belts, don't expect the brakes to keep you standing still in inclines. Also - if it's not obvious, don't get the DD to mount AT wheels. Because you can't. In my opinion the BC2 DD excels on good surfaces, however the rubber wheels make scaling crappy pavement less of a pain, compared to PU wheels. It's a carvers dream as there's nothing between you and the road surface. The range and ride dynamics are a marked upgrade from midrange boards. The deck is well designed and works for my feet better than smaller ones. Also the board looks absolutely badass!
Aucun regret. N'oubliez pas de porter un casque !
